Adik Angel represents that kind of musical chameleon who, being a Swiss composer, can mix the vivid energy of electronic music with the emotional depth of world music. Growing up in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, thanks to a musically oriented family and love for classical piano, she was able to start her musical career at an early age, quickly winning first place in the "Swiss Youth Music" competition at the tender age of 12 years old.
Classically trained from a young age by the influences of Mozart and Bach, Adik had already found the foundation for her peculiar melodic character. The fascination with music soon enough dragged her toward the throbbing cosmos of electronic instruments and the hypnotic energy of pop and rock. A thirst for knowledge brought Adik into Geneva SAE, an acronym of the School of Audio Engineering, as a Recording-Production Assistant and then in an internship at Lake Side Studio in Vevey of the famous French producer Benoit Kaufmann.
Her latest single, entitled "On the Move (Remix), wears her peculiar eclecticism to a new form of electro-dance. The remix kicks in with a pulsating beat, underscored by ambient synth chords, which instantly takes the listener back to late '80s dancefloors. In comes a signature riff, doubling as both melody and rhythm, driving along the groove. An unusual syncopated pattern in the riff gives it some breakbeat character.
After the intro, the main hook comes in with an upbeat melodic motif on funky syncopated synth stabs. The hook is like the chorus, doubled in tempo and beat intensity to a euphoric peak. Subtle filter sweeps on the percussion and synths help maintain momentum throughout. The track flies through without ever sitting in one place for a duration. Sharply accented rhythms along with ornamented melodic lines give the track a globe-spanning flair.
Accompanying the reworked track, Adik released an awesomely stunning music video filmed across sunny global locales. Jumping from breakdancing and roller skating to dancers expressing their style against scenic backdrops, the shots are edited together briskly to match the energetic pace of the track. Frequent close-ups drive home the passion and precision in each performer's moves.
Adik herself also appears, easing her way across keyboard synthesizers and into the music. Her performances are engaging and further drive home the infectious spirit of the track. Taken all together, visuals that thrill viewers directly onto the dancefloor among the eclectic international community the song envisions together, these elements make for a truly wondrous sight. By the time the video concludes, the viewer will have little choice but to hit replay and get lost in the rhythm all over again.
Adik Angel has just done an overkill with "On the Move (Remix);" The accompanying music video was phenomenal; it matched with great energy, which was exactly the spirit of the song. Watching the video along with listening only further enhanced my experience of the track. I highly recommend listening to "On the Move (Remix)" with the accompanying bright and colorful music video to get the full electrifying experience. It left me with an ear-to-ear grin and an immediate urge to hit replay, making it an absolute must-listen and an even better must-watch.
